W
elcome To Matt Nunn's Official Web Presence

I am a freelance poet, writer, editor and workshop leader, available for hire for reasonable rates, in actual fact just available.....  If you even semi-impressed by my web presence, and let's face it who wouldn't be, and want to know more about me, buy a book or book me for work, then you can contact me at matt@mattthepoet.co.uk. I believe that poetry should be enjoyed by everyone so come inside and enjoy my poetry....

Exciting news!!! Wednesday 13th Decemember sees the launch in Coventry of my second book "Happy cos I'm Blue". Published by the ever so slightly magnificent publishers the Heaventree press.
Don't make yourself Blue and be sure to read cos it will almost certainly revolutionise your life.....

I am biased of course but I do think it is an excellent book and one that I'm extremely proud of. It is my greatest achievement until my next one that is!!
I'd really love you to read it too. It is avaliable from all good bookshops and a few average ones too, if it's not physically on the shelves then they can order it for you.
Or you can buy it off Amazon or from Heaventree themselves at www.heaventreepress.co.uk

As soon as they come in I shall put up some of the reviews of the book, as long as they're good of course and treat you to a few samples from the smorgasbord of veritable poetical fun that is "Happy cos I'm Blue".

I've also been working on an interseting podcasting venture lately. I am co-founder and editor of a monthly podcast magazine programme called "The Oubliette" which shall round-up the local West Midlands poetry scene with a mixture of live recordings, open mic slots, reviews and what can only be described as "witty banterage" between myself and Rich and George my fellow Oublietters.
I shall provide a link here to "The Oubliette" as soon as we can work out how to get it going properly!!!

Besides writing and performing poetry I also run many successful workshops in a huge variety of settings and with a wide range of the population from 4 years old to 104!! I love doing these as not only do I get to meet a massive amount of wonderful people but I also get the chance to unlock their creativity and give them skills they never knew they had, looking under stones and shining lights on people's hidden depths is one of my specialities!!!

Those lucky enough to have been blessed with my workshopping skills on a regular basis include, Age Concern Birmingham, City College, Main Street resource centre, Birmingham City and Coventry City FC (The first poet to be transferred!!),. I also regularly work in schools and with various refugee groups, disadvantaged children, mental health groups. In actual fact as I said there is no section in society I haven't worked with!!, except maybe ex-smokers from Rotherham support group, though I hope to get that gig one day!!

The only thing I can say about my poetry workshops is "I BLOODY LOVE'EM.....", I feel really privileged to have the chance to be able to do them with such a wide variety of people.

I also perform regularly in an equally bizarre number of positions and places, I'll try and keep the "Goings On" up-to-date and list my upcoming readings, so you can come along and see if I am really real or not.

But that is not all folks, I like to keep busy, so recently I've also started doing various, keyword and ghost-writing articles, which are dotted round cyberspace. I also work as a writer-researcher for a couple of web based companies. I enjoy this new aspect of my writing and find the whole process fascinating.

I also offer various personalised writing services besides writing web content, I am also available to write business letters, resumes, articles , anything that involves me using a biro or a keyboard on your behalf. Samples, fees, further information, are available from me using the above address.

I also write a weekly diary concerning the events and disasters of Birmingham City FC for footballingworld website, go and see how awful The Blues are and how good the diarist is.

I've done a fair bit of sports journalism over the years, mainly about football and cricket, I love'em both and enjoy sharing my passions with you all. I hope to develop this side to my writing over time.

So again if you want a sporty article written, contact me at the usual address.....I've always wanted to say that......

At the moment I'm doing a proof-reading and copy-editing course which will enable me to do them both professionally and so in time I'll be able to offer these as well. I'll let you know when I'm qualified and able to take work!!!
